Thomas Hudson is an award winning filmmaker from Newcastle, NSW, Australia.

He has worked for over a decade as a writer, director, and cinematographer for television, commercials, and music video, while also making award winning narrative short films.

His films have been recognised by festivals like Flickerfest, Tropfest and more. His strong visual style and natural storytelling ability have been put to use by organisations like the ABC, CSIRO, UNICEF, SBS, IOhYou Records, Entertainment One, plus a long list of brands, businesses, and artists.

His new film ’Sex Lives’ is another collaboration with Sarah Bishop and Cameron James following the success of their short film ‘Late Moves’ which premiered at Flickerfest, won awards around the world, and led to writing and development collaborations for ABC television.

On the strength of ‘Late Moves’ as well as his previous short film ‘The Last Stupid Thing’ (Shortlisted Tropfest, Best Cinematography Freshflix, 5 Official Selections) Thomas was selected by the Australian Directors Guild as one of five regional directors to attend a masterclass with Australian filmmaker Ana Kokkinos. He is proud to be based in the regional city of Newcastle and enjoys being able to bring together collaborators from both Newcastle and the nearby filmmaking capital of Sydney.

Thomas loves to make films about guilt, romance, regret and love. He hopes they have emotional depth, and feel funny and real.
